Indications for use:
Immunization of breeder and layer hens against coccidiosis, providing active protection from 14 days after vaccination until the end of life.
Vaccine composition:
Livacox is a live-attenuated tetravalent vaccine. The economically most important strains in breeder and layer hens are:
Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. acervulina.
Each dose of this vaccine (0.01 ml) contains 300 to 500 sporulated oocysts of each of the above-mentioned types, as well as 100 sporulated oocysts of E. necatrix, and 1% w/v of choronine B solution.
Contraindications:
It should not be used with feed or drinking water containing anticoccidials, sulfonamides, or any agents with anticoccidial properties. Feed and drinking water prepared for the birds must be free of the aforementioned substances for 2 days before and 12 days after vaccination.
Dosage and administration:
The vaccine can be administered either in drinking water or by spray. Vaccination should be performed between 1 and 10 days of age. Vaccination during the first five days of life is more effective, as the strains used in the vaccine can establish themselves in the intestine before other pathogenic oocysts develop.
Drinking water:
First, the vaccine should be diluted in a sufficient amount of fresh drinking water. Vaccination via drinking water is preferably done between 3 and 5 days of age. Due to lower water intake in chicks younger than 3 days, they should not be vaccinated by this method. To calculate the amount of water needed for dilution, multiply the total number of chicks by their age in days; the result is the amount of water in milliliters required to dilute the vaccine.
Spray:
This method is more commonly used for one-day-old chicks.
Usage details should follow the manufacturer's spray device instructions. Generally, every 100 chicks should be placed in a box, then 1 ml of Livacox Q vaccine is dissolved in 19 ml of fresh drinking water and sprayed onto the chicks using the spray device.
If the number of chicks is fewer than 100, the vaccine dose remains unchanged.
Precautions:
• Vaccination should be performed on healthy chicks kept under standard conditions.
• The vaccine should only be dissolved in fresh drinking water.
• The vial should be shaken well before use.
• For revaccination, birds should be vaccinated again after 10 days.
Storage conditions:
Protect the vaccine from freezing.
Store in a dry, dark place at 2–8°C. During transportation and handling, the temperature should also be maintained at 2–8°C.
Keep out of reach of children.
Shelf life:
9 months after the production date.
